WHAT IS AQA?

The AQA Unit Award Scheme is a flexible, accessible way for learners to have their achievements formally recognised by AQA, with certificates issued for each completed unit of learning, regardless of age, ability, or the topic covered. 

*Those children who come to SEND QUEST will have the opportunity to participate, should the parent/guardian choose.

* AQA is a nationally recognised unit scheme. Schools, colleges and universities accept these certificates as evidence of learning.

*To register the one-off fee per year is £30. Within that year your child can complete as many units as they wish or can manage.

*As SEND QUEST is registered as an AQA centre, you would be required to pay through the organisation.

*The activities we do could lend themselves to gathering evidence for the unit scheme.

*The gathering of evidence is the responsibility of the parent/carer. We will be happy to support wherever we can to ensure your child achieves the targets needed.

*Any work will then be submitted electronically via SEND QUEST.

WILL MY CHILD COPE WITH THIS?

*To effectively deliver the AQA Unit Award Scheme to special needs children, we will focus on creating a flexible, fun and accessible environment, tailoring delivery to the child's individual needs where possible, and providing clear, achievable outcomes with ample opportunity for practice and recognition. 

*Each unit clearly sets out the learning outcomes.

Evidence of those outcomes can be photos, typed work, modelling, handwritten, artwork, the options are vast.

*We aim to introduce content in the most appropriate way for your SEND child– there are no set specifications, nor do we need to use specific schemes of work or resources. In partnership, the staff and parent/carer can be as creative as needed for the individual child.

*AQA units are wide and varied. Your child could explore an area simply out of interest or they can choose a more focused subject, all at the appropriate level. The choice is theirs.
